At Clayton Gray Home, we are known for featuring luxe pieces made of brass, marble, and shagreen, but what you may not know is that we are also home to a large selection of coastal-inspired pieces, too! During our recent trip to High Point Market, Wendy and I found several new pieces made of rope and hand-knotted cotton. Both materials add fantastic texture to decorative accents and create warmth when combined with wood furniture. Here are 5 braided pieces that will instantly transform your room for Summer. 1. Siba Mirror The Currey & Co. Siba Mirror, made with thin abaca wood and braided two-tone rope, is exactly what you hope to see when you walk into a vacation home. With its round porthole style and sturdy iron frame, the Siba Mirror is whimsical, artisanal, and casual. After all, the key to mastering the coastal look is to create a place where you can relax. 2. Tisbury Mirror Named after a coastal town in Martha's Vineyard, the Curry & Co. Tisbury Mirror perfectly captures the nautical style without being campy. Made of hand-placed rows of abaca rope, this round mirror is set inside a square frame to maximize the impact of the natural rope. Try it in a powder room that needs a bit of sprucing up. 3. Cream Braided Pillow Set Looking for some simple coastal accents but not ready to dive head-first into the ocean? The Four Hands Cream Braided Pillow Set of Two should do the trick. These 5" by 16" pillows are made of a cotton and wool blend that is woven together in thick rows. Use these throw pillows as decorative accents on a casual living room sofa, or added them to a guest bedroom for a textural touch. 4. Arricka Chandelier If you've read any of my recent blog posts, you know the Made Goods Arricka Chandelier is one of my favorite finds from High Point. Made of bleached abaca rope that's woven into three tiers of concentric circles, the Arricka Chandelier is suspended from your choice of a gold or silver metal hoop and adds natural elegance to dining rooms, master bathrooms, and breakfast nooks. If this rope look isn't chic, I don't know what is. 5. Olisa Nightstand Using rope-wrapped furniture might seem like a trend out of the Golden Girls house, but when it's done purposefully, the result is stunning. The Currey and Co. Olisa Nightstand (and the Currey & Co. Olisa Etagere) is wrapped on all four sides with natural abaca rope with a stunning level of detail. When paired with a simpler bed frame, like the Delphine collection from Worlds Away, the Olisa Nightstand transforms from trendy accent to statement piece. You'll rest easy next to these pieces.
