Details
The House of Good Heirloom + Argan Candle is a vessel designed to outlive its wax. Created through a collaboration between House of Good and Light + Ladder of Brooklyn, it arrives as a functional object that transforms with use, poured in ebony-dyed cement in California, then filled with hand-poured wax in Connecticut.
The proportions feel considered. The weight settles in your hand with intention, and the matte surface catches light without demanding it. Once the candle burns down, the vessel becomes a candelabra; a small taper arrives to help you begin that second life. You might refill it with a replenishment insert, or let a trailing plant spill from its opening on a shelf. Because the material is porous, it absorbs the fragrance as the wax burns. Long after the flame extinguishes, the scent lingers in the plaster or cement, a quiet persistence that reminds you of the candle's presence even when unlit.
Each piece is hand-made, so surface variations and unique markings emerge naturally. The material will patina with time, developing a soft complexity that deepens its presence in a room. This isn't a flaw but evidence of how objects age when they're made to be lived with. The Heirloom + Argan fragrance unfolds slowly, neither aggressive nor fleeting. It's the kind of scent that becomes part of a room's atmosphere rather than announcing itself.
