Isla Cabinet Natural Peeled Rattan

The Isla Cabinet draws attention through the contrast between its substantial frame and the lightness of peeled rattan wrapping. Made Goods has constructed this piece with a tightly woven basket weave that catches light differently depending on the time of day, shifting from pale honey tones in morning sun to warm amber by evening. The natural variation in the rattan strips creates subtle texture without visual noise, a quality that becomes apparent when the cabinet sits alongside other furnishings in a lived space.

Three fixed shelves offer deliberate storage without excess capacity, encouraging restraint in what gets displayed. The proportions feel considered rather than imposing, scaled to sit comfortably against a bedroom wall or anchor a living room corner without dominating the room. The peeled rattan edges soften what might otherwise read as a rigid wooden structure, introducing an organic quality that suggests handwork even within the precision of the weave.

This cabinet exists in conversation with natural materials and neutral palettes. It works equally well holding everyday objects or acting as a quiet architectural element, its neutral warmth complementing both minimal and layered interiors. The construction method suggests durability alongside aesthetic intention, the kind of object that improves with time and use rather than showing its age abruptly.
