Isla Cabinet Smoke Peeled Rattan

The Isla Cabinet in Smoke Peeled Rattan draws attention first for its proportions, a restrained rectangular form that commands a wall without dominating it. The tightly wrapped peeled rattan frame creates a visual rhythm across the facade, while the dense basket weave catches light differently depending on the hour and angle of view, revealing subtle texture that photographs rarely capture. Inside, three fixed wood shelves lined with matching rattan edges continue the exterior's logic inward, making the storage feel considered rather than utilitarian.

The cabinet works particularly well against plaster or neutral painted walls, where its warm, smoke-toned surface reads as a quiet anchor. Its depth is generous enough to hold substantial objects, yet the frame's delicate proportions prevent it from feeling heavy in a room. Setting objects on the shelves, you notice how the rattan edges frame each piece like a subtle gallery mount, elevating everyday ceramics or books into something worthy of looking at.

Made Goods has executed this piece with attention to how materials age and patina over time. The peeled rattan develops character as it settles into a home, the surface softening rather than degrading. It's the kind of cabinet that feels equally at home in a bedroom, living room, or entryway, functioning as both storage and quiet sculptural presence.
