Isla Standing Cabinet Natural Peeled Rattan

The Isla Standing Cabinet catches light differently depending on the angle you approach it. Natural peeled rattan wraps the frame in tight, deliberate bands while the sides hold a denser basket weave that contrasts subtly with the doors, which open to reveal a looser, more organic pattern. This variation in weave density gives the cabinet a sense of intentional craft, as if each surface was considered in relation to how it will be seen and touched.

Inside, four fixed wood shelves lined with the same tightly wrapped rattan edges create a continuity between interior and exterior. The shelves themselves feel substantial enough to ground objects without competing for attention. In a living room, the cabinet becomes a quiet anchor, its warm neutral tone absorbing and reflecting the room's existing light without demanding notice.

The proportions read as neither minimal nor ornate. There's a restraint in how the rattan has been applied, a respect for the material's own texture rather than an attempt to smooth or perfect it. Placed beside a window, the cabinet's woven surfaces cast soft, shifting shadows across a nearby wall throughout the day. It's the kind of piece that reveals more of itself over time, as you notice how the rattan's natural variation catches different qualities of light with each season.
