Lane Pendant Natural Raffia

The Lane Pendant in Natural Raffia draws its form from the logic of a woven basket, inverted to become a light source. Made Goods has constructed it from thick braids of natural raffia, hand-coiled in overlapping rings that taper toward the opening. The material itself catches and filters light in subtle gradations, creating a warm glow that shifts depending on the hour and angle of view.

What makes this pendant distinct is its restraint. There are no decorative flourishes, no attempts to soften what is already inherently soft. The raffia's texture reads as honest material, neither polished nor precious, yet the hand-coiling reveals genuine craft. Each braid sits deliberately in place, visible evidence of assembly rather than industrial uniformity. In a room, the pendant establishes a quiet presence. Hung above a dining table or in an entry, it becomes a sculptural object during the day, then transforms at dusk into a diffused amber glow that settles across surfaces below.
