The Natural Curiosities' Frederick Steiner Archive Rabbits and Leaves Series 1 features the Steiner family, known for their textile designs and the discovery of a light-fast Turkey Red dye, made from the roots of the madder plant. The archive, located in Alsace near the French German border, contains papers from 1780 to the early 1900's. With a keen eye for the popular Art Nouveau style of the 1920s, Frederick Steiner also collected French designs to incorporate into his textiles.
