Zuma Serving Dish Pacific Set of 2

Kelly Wearstler drew from Bauhaus geometry to create the Zuma Serving Dish Set of 2 in Pacific, a collection of hand-stamped porcelain pieces from Serax. The pattern originates in digital form, then translates to each dish through individual stamping before glazing, preserving the immediacy of the mark-making process.

The set comprises two serving dishes scaled for everyday use and occasional entertaining alike. The Pacific colorway sits between blue and grey, a neutral that reads differently depending on light and context. Glazed porcelain holds warmth in the hand and catches light along the rim and interior curves. Hand-stamping introduces natural variation across the set. No two pieces register identically, which deepens rather than diminishes their presence on a table. This irregularity is intrinsic to the work, not a deviation from an ideal.

The pattern itself maintains visual clarity despite the handmade application, a balance that speaks to both the designer's restraint and the maker's skill. These dishes function across contexts. They move from everyday service to display, from casual family meals to more considered table settings. The geometric pattern reads as contemporary without announcing itself, allowing food and surrounding objects to share the visual field rather than compete for attention.
